God's Blue Print

We are the Father's intelligent design, and as a part of His creation, we are created in His image and likeness to give Him glory and to do His will. We are not here on earth by accident. We are here for a divine assignment. Before we left heaven, the Father placed His plans within our hearts and determined a specific time when everything would line up so we would connect to Him, His plan, and purpose for our lives.

I remember the day everything connected for me. It was my first close encounter of heaven's kind. I was home alone. My children had left for summer vacation with their Father. I was going about my usual Saturday morning clean-up routine. When I mistakenly picked up the Bible to dust it off. Something prompted me to open it, and so I did. It was as if the world stood still, and everything moved slowly.

To my surprise, the Bible automatically opened to 2 Samuel 16: 7, which reads, "Do not look at his appearance or stature, because I have already refused him. God does not see a man as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks into the heart." (paraphrased)

I stood motionless for a few minutes, trying to comprehend what was happening, and then something strange occurred. The words from the Bible verse leaped into my heart. After that encounter, my life was never the same.

It took years to understand that the Father gave me a past to give me a future. Let me explain. We are often ashamed and embarrassed by our past and fail to see the beauty of being beautifully scared, and like our fingerprints, no two scars are the same. Most of the time, the beautiful scars are our assignment here on earth.

The Father used many Bible characters with a shameful past for His glory. Abraham came from a family of idol worshippers; Jacob was a deceiver and conned his brother twice out of his birthright and generational blessing. Moses murdered an Egyptian before escaping to the desert, Rahab was a harlot, Samson was a womanizer, David committed adultery and murderer, Peter was a denier of the Messiah, The Samaritan Woman at the Well had five husbands, Paul persecuted and ordered the death of the first Believers, and the list continues on and on.

And I'd like to add my name to that list, Angela, a chief sinner.

Thankfully, the Father has used my past to help encourage and comfort many women. Numerous women have crossed my path for me to serve. Our assignment in the earthly realm is to touch and serve as many people as possible for the Kingdom of God.

Our Messiah did the same thing while on earth, and as His disciples, we are supposed to do the same. Jesus healed and delivered as many people as He could and always had large crowds following Him. Messiah was and is our model of working for the Kingdom.

I pray you connect with what I'm saying; too many people are not healed from their past and walk around with unresolved forgiveness issues and baggage that keep them stuck in an unhealthy negative cycle, but the Messiah has set us free. Galatians 5:1 says, The Messiah has set us free so that we may enjoy the benefits of freedom. So keep on standing firm in it, and stop putting yourselves under the yoke of slavery again. (ISV)

It's true. We are no longer enslaved or held captive by our past; the Father's love through His Son has set us free. You are an exquisite blueprint and intelligent design sent here by the Father to do His will.

Beloved, our past works together with our future for good. The Father doesn't throw anything away; instead, He uses even our bad for His good. I'll leave you with a very familiar passage of scripture, Romans 8:28. Furthermore, we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called in accordance with his purpose. (CJB)

Until next time, may the Kingdom of God be with you!
